Suspect Arrested After Police Pursuit Ends in Crash, Injures Driver and Two Troopers in Buckhead
ATLANTA, Ga. — A traffic stop escalated into a pursuit and crash Thursday evening in Buckhead, leaving a driver and two state troopers injured, authorities said.
The incident began April 9, 2026, when Georgia State Troopers attempted to stop a Range Rover for a traffic violation. The driver fled, leading troopers on a pursuit through the area.
According to officials, the pursuit ended when the suspect ran a red light at Peachtree Road and Piedmont Road and collided with an uninvolved vehicle. Atlanta Police officers also responded to the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities said the suspect then fled on foot, prompting a chase by troopers. During the pursuit, two troopers suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The suspect was eventually subdued with a Taser and taken into custody after also being transported to a hospital.
The investigation remains ongoing.
