Elderly Man Dies Days After Assault in Brunswick, Investigation Now a Homicide
GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — A Glynn County assault investigation has turned into a homicide case after a 72-year-old man died from his injuries, police said.
Officers with the Glynn County Police Department responded around 8:21 p.m. on March 24, 2026, to a reported assault at a residence on Abbott Avenue in Brunswick.
When officers arrived, they found the victim, identified as Robert Yawn, unconscious and suffering from injuries consistent with an assault. He was transported by Glynn County Fire Rescue to Southeast Health System Brunswick Campus for treatment.
Authorities said on March 30 that Yawn had died from his injuries.
The Glynn County Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is actively investigating the case, which is now being treated as a homicide.
Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a suspect.
