Man Arrested After Firing Gun in Alley Near Downtown Macon

MACON, Ga. — A man was arrested after investigators say he fired multiple rounds into the air while walking through an alley near downtown Macon.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, Gang Unit Investigator Hermann Beltran took the 26-year-old suspect into custody following reports of shots fired in an alleyway near Third Street and Cherry Street Lane.

Authorities said the suspect discharged several rounds into the air while walking through the area. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

The suspect was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center and faces multiple charges, including:

  • Reckless conduct
  • Discharge of a firearm on or near a public highway or street
  • Possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of certain felonies
  • Purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution, or sale of marijuana

The investigation remains ongoing.
