Second Suspect Arrested in Florence Avenue Homicide Investigation in Macon

MACON, Ga. — A second arrest has been made in connection with the death investigation on Florence Avenue, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. 31-year-old Jeremi Devontrey Hill had been arrested and charged with the Murder and was arrested in Americus.

On February 27, 2026, at approximately 1:27 p.m., deputies with the Sheriff’s Office H.E.A.T. Unit, assisted by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, arrested Malik Mikeal Jenkins, 29, of Macon.

Authorities said Jenkins was wanted in connection with the death of Shavis Adams, which occurred on February 21, 2026.

Jenkins was spotted driving a U-Haul truck near the intersection of Pio Nono Avenue and Ell Street, where deputies conducted a traffic stop and took him into custody without incident. He was transported to the Criminal Investigation Division for questioning.

Following further investigation, Jenkins was booked into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, but was later referred to a medical facility for treatment of a pre-existing medical condition. On Monday, March 2, 2026, he was returned to the detention center.

Jenkins has been formally charged with Murder and is currently being held without bond.
