Two Women Found Dead, Man Shoots Self After Barricade Situation in Macon
MACON, Georgia – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly barricade situation that unfolded Tuesday morning in the Lake Wildwood community.
At approximately 10:16 a.m., Civil Service deputies responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Ridgeview Circle to execute an eviction. While on scene, deputies heard gunshots coming from inside the home. They immediately retreated to their vehicle and notified dispatch of shots fired.
Multiple specialized units responded, including the Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, Drug Unit, Violent Crimes Unit, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), and the Negotiations Unit. Authorities arrived around 10:30 a.m. and attempted to initiate contact with anyone inside the residence. Despite repeated efforts, no one responded.
Shortly after noon, SWAT personnel entered the home. Inside, deputies found two adult women deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. A male was also located inside with what authorities believe to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigators now believe the gunshots heard by deputies earlier were related to these injuries.
The male was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he later died.
The identities and ages of those involved have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
