Fayette County Deputies Investigate Apparent Murder-Suicide Involving Mother and Son
FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. – The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent murder-suicide after two people were found dead inside a home in the Old Ford Acres subdivision.
Deputies with the sheriff’s office Patrol Division responded to a welfare check at a residence on Feb. 3, 2026. Upon arrival, deputies discovered two deceased individuals inside the home. Authorities identified the victims as a 58-year-old woman and her 36-year-old son.
Early findings indicate the incident appears to be a murder-suicide, according to investigators.
The sheriff’s office Criminal Investigations Division is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Officials said there are no other suspects and no threat to the public. No additional details are being released at this time out of respect for the families involved.
