Peach County Sheriff’s Office Corporal Commended for Heroic Life-Saving Actions
PEACH COUNTY, Georgia – The Peach County Sheriff’s Office formally commends Corporal Reggie French for his extraordinary bravery, selfless actions, and unwavering dedication to the protection of life during a residential structure fire on December 25, 2025.
On this date, Corporal French responded to a residence that was fully engulfed in flames. During the response, it was discovered that a disabled woman was living in a small shed located approximately twenty feet from the burning structure, placing her in immediate and grave danger as the fire intensified.
Without hesitation and with complete disregard for his own personal safety, Corporal French entered the hazardous area and physically carried the disabled woman from the shed to a safe location, ensuring her survival under extremely dangerous conditions.
In addition to rescuing the victim, Corporal French took further decisive action to prevent additional loss of life. He successfully rescued two dogs that were chained near the burning residence, as well as a cat that was inside the shed with the victim. His actions demonstrated exceptional courage, compassion, and professionalism well beyond what is normally expected in the line of duty.
Corporal French’s conduct on this day exemplifies the highest traditions of law enforcement service. His bravery, quick decision-making, and commitment to safeguarding both human life and animals reflect great credit upon himself and the Peach County Sheriff’s Office as a whole.
