Man Arrested After Repeated Disturbances at Norcross Social Security Office and Duluth Hotel
NORCROSS, Ga. – A 65-year-old man was arrested Thursday after allegedly causing multiple public disturbances, including one inside a Social Security office where children were present, according to the Gwinnett County Police Department.
Police were first called Wednesday, January 14, to the Social Security office at 4365 Shackleford Road in Norcross following reports of a disturbance. Officers reviewed video provided by witnesses and employees that showed an individual later identified as Robert Burke making verbal threats and insulting several people inside the office. Employees told officers Burke had caused prior disruptions at the location. Multiple children were visible in the video during the incident.
Burke had left the office before officers arrived. Based on witness statements and video evidence, police obtained a warrant charging him with Disorderly Conduct.
The following day, just after noon on Thursday, January 15, Gwinnett County officers were dispatched to a disturbance at the Courtyard Marriott hotel at 3550 Venture Parkway in Duluth. Officers arrived to find Burke again at the center of the disruption.
Burke was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail at 1:58 p.m. The investigation into both incidents is complete, and the disorderly conduct charge remains pending.
