Military Veteran Targeted in Armed Home Robbery; Rincon Police Seek Suspects

Effingham County, GA – On Thursday evening, January 8, 2026, a military veteran returning home to his family in Rincon was confronted by two masked gunmen at his front door. The suspects, armed with a semi-automatic handgun and a rifle, demanded the victim’s wallet, phone, and keys. The victim complied and was not physically harmed. The gunmen then fled the scene in the victim’s car.

Rincon Police are actively seeking the public’s assistance in identifying one of the suspects captured on video. At one point, the suspect on the left briefly pulled down his mask, revealing his face. The suspect on the right has already been identified, and warrants have been issued for his arrest.
