Bibb County SWAT Disarms Armed Driver After Christmas Eve Pickup Crash
MACON, Ga. – Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies spent Christmas Eve negotiating with a man who refused to exit his overturned pickup truck while armed with a handgun.
The incident occurred on the morning of Wednesday, December 24, when deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash off Heath Road in West Macon. The driver had lost control of his Ford F-150, which overturned onto its side.

Authorities reported that the man was driving on a suspended license. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges could be filed as more details emerge.
Sheriff’s deputies emphasized the importance of their trained negotiation and tactical teams in resolving potentially dangerous situations without injury to officers or the public.
