19-Year-Old Woman Killed in Lawrenceville Shooting; Boyfriend Charged

Lawrenceville Police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred early Thursday morning on Lauren Kay Court. Officers were called around 1:19 a.m. after reports that a 19-year-old woman had been shot in the head by her boyfriend.

When officers arrived, they found the woman in an upstairs bedroom with a gunshot wound. Emergency personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.

The victim’s boyfriend, 19-year-old Sebastian Prestridge, remained at the home and was taken into custody without incident. Police say everyone in the residence is cooperating with investigators.

Following the initial investigation, Prestridge was charged with one felony count of involuntary manslaughter. The victim’s name is being withheld until her family is notified.

“This is an incredibly tragic situation, and our hearts go out to the victim’s family and loved ones,” said Captain Dena Pauly, Public Information Officer for the Lawrenceville Police Department. “Our investigators are working diligently to ensure a thorough and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding this young woman’s death.”

The case remains active and ongoing.
