Macon Man Arrested in Connection with Fatal Harrison Road Shooting

MACON, GA – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Taskforce, has arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on August 31, 2025.

Deputies responded to a wooded area within the 6000 block of Harrison Road at approximately 9:30 a.m., after receiving a report of a male suffering from a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, officers found 46-year-old Nelson Reynolds Crenshaw of Fort Valley unresponsive. Paramedics transported Crenshaw to a local medical facility, but he later succumbed to his injuries, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley.

Following an investigation, 60-year-old Timothy Alan Hurt of Macon was identified as the suspect. Hurt was taken into custody and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. He has been charged with murder and is currently being held without bond.

Sheriff’s deputies and federal partners continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
