On Monday, September 29, 2025, Arrington Mckheil Bostic, of Monticello, was taken into custody and charged with Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime following the death of 41-year-old Deondrey Florence of Barnesville. According to the GBI, he turned himself in.

The case dates back to late on Saturday, September 20, when a 911 caller reported gunfire near the 200 block of Southland Drive around 11:45 p.m. Responding officers from the Barnesville Police Department found Florence dead at the scene.
