Two Shootings in Jeffersonville Lead to Multiple Arrests

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ga.—The Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office has arrested multiple individuals in connection with two separate shootings that occurred in Jeffersonville in early September.

On August 31, deputies responded to a report of shots fired on Main Street. One individual sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to the hospital. During the investigation, it was discovered that two children were nearly struck by gunfire. Tyquez Martin of Jeffersonville was identified and arrested for his involvement, facing charges of aggravated assault and other offenses for endangering county residents. The investigation is ongoing.

On September 2, the Sheriff’s Office responded to another shots fired call in the Charlie Floyd Sr. Road and Wiley Drive area. Multiple parties were reportedly shooting at each other in the residential neighborhood, and one vehicle on a public roadway was struck. Following an investigation, Jaquantis Cornelius and Douglas Moore III were arrested. They face charges of aggravated assault and additional charges for endangering residents.
