GBI Investigating Fatal Shooting of Lumber City Man

LUMBER CITY, GA — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Lumber City Police Department in the homicide of 42-year-old Dwayne Clark, who was found dead inside his home on South Church Street Monday night.

According to investigators, officers responded at approximately 8:53 p.m. on August 18, 2025, after a relative discovered Clark’s body and called 911. He had been shot multiple times.

The GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in Pooler will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

GBI agents are currently conducting interviews, and the investigation remains active. No arrests have been made.
