Three Arrested in Americus Shooting Investigation

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has arrested three individuals in connection with a shooting that occurred on August 2, 2025, in Americus, GA.
Ashton Pride, 20, of Smithville, GA, faces three counts of Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery, 2nd Degree Criminal Damage to Property, Theft by Taking, Entering Auto, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Micah Stephens, 19, of Americus, GA, was charged with two counts of Party to the Crime of Aggravated Assault. Arderion Jones, 17, of Americus, GA, faces three counts of Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery, 2nd Degree Criminal Damage to Property, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.
The investigation began after Americus Police Department officers responded to the 100 block of Knollwood Drive, where D’Shawndra Morris of Desoto, GA, was found with a gunshot wound. Morris was treated on scene and transported to Phoebe Sumter Hospital, later transferred to Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany, GA.
Arrests were made between August 8 and August 11, 2025, with Pride apprehended by multiple regional task forces, Stephens by Americus Police, and Jones by Americus Police, Smithville Police, and GBI agents.
