Pedestrian Fatally Struck by 18-Wheeler on I-75 in Bibb County

BIBB COUNTY, GA – Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a fatal accident after a pedestrian was struck by an 18-wheeler on Interstate 75 northbound late Sunday night, August 3, 2025.

Deputies responded to the area just before the Bass Road on-ramp at approximately 11:53 p.m. after receiving reports of a male walking in the lanes of traffic. Upon arrival, deputies were informed that a white male had walked into the lane of travel and was possibly struck by a tractor-trailer.

A search of the area led deputies to locate the male in a nearby ditch. Emergency medical personnel responded, and the man was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Bibb County Coroner’s Office.

The driver of the 18-wheeler remained on scene and reported the incident to authorities. No charges have been filed at this time. The name of the deceased will be released pending notification of next of kin.
