Armed Suspect at Large After Shooting, Arson, and Standoff in Macon

MACON, GA – Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies are searching for an armed suspect following a violent series of events that began Tuesday night, July 15, 2025.

Deputies responded at 9:07 p.m. to a home in the 4000 block of Summer Hill Drive after receiving a report of a person shot. They located a 52-year-old female victim suffering from a gunshot wound on Log Cabin Drive near Presidential Parkway. The woman, who remains in stable condition, told investigators she had been shot by 18-year-old Nicholas Ishmael Floyd inside a residence on Madden Avenue, which Floyd had set on fire prior to the shooting.

According to reports, Floyd then fled the scene with a 12-year-old male and barricaded himself inside a home on Summer Hill Drive. The Bibb County SWAT Team, Hostage Negotiators, and Patrol Deputies responded to the location. SWAT officers entered the residence and safely recovered the child, who was returned to his family unharmed. Floyd had already fled the scene before officers made entry.

Nicholas Ishmael Floyd is described as a Black male with light complexion, an afro hairstyle, approximately 6’1″ tall, and weighing around 150 pounds. He is considered armed and dangerous.
