Argument Turns Violent on Hillridge Drive in Macon; One Shot, Suspect in Custody

MACON, Ga. — Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a suspect following an aggravated assault that occurred just after 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the 1300 block of Hillridge Drive.

According to the sheriff’s office, 25-year-old Jason Chapman was shot in the leg during a verbal altercation with 36-year-old Lamarcus Parker. Witnesses reported that Parker pulled out a firearm during the argument and fired at Chapman.

Responding deputies located Parker nearby in a garage and took him into custody without incident. The firearm used in the shooting was recovered at the scene.

Chapman was transported to a local medical facility, where he was treated and listed in stable condition.

Parker was booked into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. He is charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
