Intoxicated Driver Found Asleep at the Wheel on Eisenhower Parkway, Taken Into Custody

A driver was arrested by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office H.E.A.T. Unit after being found asleep behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Suburban on Eisenhower Parkway, blocking a lane of traffic.

Deputy Dalton Palmer responded to the scene, where the male driver was reportedly unresponsive in the stopped vehicle. After several attempts, deputies were able to wake the man, who appeared disoriented and unsure how to unlock the door or exit the vehicle.

A breathalyzer test revealed the driver’s blood alcohol concentration to be more than twice the legal limit. Authorities also confirmed the man was driving on a suspended license.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center. The arrest was part of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety H.E.A.T. Unit initiative, which focuses on targeting impaired and aggressive drivers.
