Walton County Student Charged for Bringing Weapon to School and Bus
On March 6, 2025, at approximately 3:41 p.m., the Walton County Sheriff’s Office was notified by Carver Middle School administration in Monroe, GA, that a student had been in possession of a weapon on school grounds and a school bus.
The Youth Investigations Division responded and initiated an investigation. During the course of the investigation, the juvenile suspect admitted to possessing the weapon at both locations. The suspect has been charged and taken before a juvenile court judge.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be pending. Sheriff Keith Brooks stated that the Walton County Sheriff’s Office is committed to ensuring the safety of students and staff at all schools within its jurisdiction and will continue to take every threat seriously.
