William Tyler Noonan

William Tyler Noonan, of College Station, pleaded guilty to multiple felony charges on February 10, 2025, and was sentenced to 20 years in prison for a series of violent assaults against his girlfriend.

On June 29, 2023, College Station Police responded to a domestic violence call after the victim’s family expressed concerns for her safety. Officers arrived to find the victim covered in bruises and hesitant to speak. After further investigation, police learned that she had been assaulted multiple times over the previous week and had escaped the apartment after being strangled hours earlier.

The victim was taken to Baylor Scott & White for treatment, where she reported that Noonan had strangled her, smothered her with a pillow, hit, kicked, stomped on, thrown her to the ground, and bitten her over four days.

Noonan was arrested while searching for the victim in their apartment complex. He was charged with Assault Family Violence Strangulation/Impeding Breath, two counts of Assault Family Violence with a Previous Conviction, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

A week before his trial, Noonan changed his plea to guilty, avoiding testimony from the victim. He was convicted of all four felonies and sentenced to 20 years in prison for each charge.

Prosecutors uncovered a history of violence, including prior convictions for assaulting a former girlfriend, Harassment of a Public Servant, Evading Arrest, and drug possession. A third victim also came forward, revealing past abuse by Noonan.

Assistant District Attorney Ryan Golden prosecuted the case with Investigator Mike Johse and Victim Assistance Coordinators Melissa Carter and Mandie James.

“We recognize the incredible strength it takes for victims of domestic violence to speak up against their abusers and seek help. Love should never hurt, and we will continue to hold accountable those that hurt the people they claim to love,” Golden stated.
