Marion County Man Arrested for Sexual Exploitation of Children

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes (CEACC) Unit has arrested and charged Timothy Campbell, age 38, of Buena Vista, GA, with 3 counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children, Electronically Furnishing Obscene Material to Minors, Computer or Electronic Pornography and Child Prevention, and Child Molestation on February 7, 2025.
An investigation into Campbell’s illicit online activity began in October 2024 at the request of the Hart County Sheriff’s Office after receiving complaints of Campbell’s online contact with children. The investigation led to a search warrant at Campbell’s home and his subsequent arrest.
The Buena Vista Police Department and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office assisted the GBI in the execution of this search warrant.
Campbell was booked into the Marion County Jail.
This investigation is part of the ongoing effort by the Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, housed within the GBI’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit, to identify those involved in the trade of child sexual abuse material. The ICAC Program, created by the U.S. Department of Justice, was developed in response to the increasing number of children and teenagers using the Internet, the proliferation of child sexual abuse material, and the heightened online activity by predators searching for unsupervised contact with underage victims.
