Gainesville Teen Wanted for Murder After Fatal Shooting of 17-year-old

The Gainesville Police Department is seeking public assistance in locating Alan Barrera, 17, of Gainesville, Georgia. Barrera is wanted on outstanding warrants for felony murder and aggravated assault in connection to the January 11, 2025, shooting death of 17-year-old Aristeo Ramirez.

Ramirez was found deceased in a crashed vehicle on Hillcrest Avenue at approximately 8:00 p.m. Investigators believe he was shot, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle. A 16-year-old involved in the incident sustained a gunshot wound to the foot and fled the scene before police arrived.
