Double Homicide Investigation Underway After Two Teens Found Shot in Douglas County

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigations Division, is currently investigating the deaths of 17-year-old Beatriz Vega and 19-year-old Roberto Deleon. In the early morning hours of October 12, 2024, deputies were alerted to 3253 West Stewart Mill Rd by an iPhone automated crash alert received through Douglas County 911.

Upon arrival, deputies found no evidence of a collision but discovered Vega and Deleon in the front seats of a vehicle, critically injured from apparent gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to the hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

Investigators are actively tracking leads and evaluating evidence to understand the events leading up to the shooting.
