Four-Year-Old Dies from Gunshot Wound in Glynn County, Boyfriend Charged with Murder
On October 16, 2024, at approximately 7:23 PM, Glynn County Police Department patrol officers responded to the Southeast Georgia Health System (2415 Parkwood Drive, Brunswick) after receiving a report of a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers found a four-year-old child in critical condition with a gunshot wound. The child was transferred to UF Shands Hospital in Jacksonville, FL, where he tragically succumbed to his injury.
GCPD investigators and crime scene technicians arrived at the scene and took control of the investigation. The investigation revealed that the incident occurred at a residence on Habersham Street, where the child was left unattended in a vehicle with an unsecured handgun.
Following their investigation, GCPD investigators arrested 25-year-old Joshua Codogan of Brunswick, GA. Codogan, who is the boyfriend of the child’s mother, now faces charges of Murder in the 2nd Degree and Tampering with Evidence.
