Two Arrested After Shots Fired During Fight in Decatur

On Thursday, October 3, 2024, at approximately 5:01 PM, Decatur Police responded to reports of shots fired near Commerce Drive and Robin Street. Witnesses described suspects fleeing the scene, and officers quickly detained several individuals. The investigation revealed that two groups had gathered at the location to fight, and members of one group began firing shots before fleeing. No injuries were reported.

A juvenile male was found in possession of a stolen firearm and was handed over to the DeKalb County Juvenile Court for charges. An 18-year-old male suspect, who admitted to firing the gun, was also found with a firearm. He was taken into custody and booked at the DeKalb County Jail for discharging a firearm and an outstanding warrant from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

The Decatur Police Criminal Investigations Division is continuing the investigation.
