FEMA Disaster Assistance Now Available for Brantley and Fulton Counties After Hurricane Helene

Homeowners and renters in Brantley and Fulton counties who suffered uninsured damage or losses due to Hurricane Helene can now apply for FEMA disaster assistance. This assistance may cover serious needs, displacement, temporary lodging, basic home repairs, personal property loss, or other disaster-related expenses.

Previously, 54 counties across Georgia, including Appling, Brooks, Camden, and Glynn, were authorized for FEMA aid. The application process has now been extended to Brantley and Fulton counties.

To apply, residents can visit DisasterAssistance.gov, use the FEMA App, call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362, or visit a Disaster Recovery Center. The FEMA Helpline is open daily, with assistance available in most languages. The deadline to apply is December 2, 2024.

When applying, individuals should be prepared with contact information, current and disaster-related addresses, Social Security numbers, a list of damages and losses, and insurance details. If insured, residents must file a claim with their insurance first, as FEMA does not duplicate benefits already covered.
