49-Year-Old Woman Found Dead Near I-75/85 in Apparent Hit-and-Run Incident

On October 13, 2024, at approximately 6:39 a.m., Atlanta Police Zone 5 officers responded to a report of a person down near the intersection of I-75/85 Southbound and I-20 Westbound. Upon arrival, medical personnel pronounced the 49-year-old female victim deceased at the scene.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim’s injuries were consistent with being struck by a vehicle. Investigators from the Accident Investigations Unit are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
