Suspect Arrested After Assaulting Deputy Outside Macon Gas Station

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with an assault on a law enforcement officer on October 10, 2024. The incident occurred at Murphy Express, located at 1402 Gray Highway, after a 911 call reported a suspect threatening store employees.

At 6:54 a.m., deputies responded to the scene where they found the suspect, identified as Tiynaan Hillard of Macon, brandishing a firearm outside the business. Hillard complied with orders to drop the weapon, but resisted arrest and shoved the deputy. A physical altercation followed before Hillard was subdued with the help of additional units.

Both Hillard and the deputy sustained minor injuries and were treated at a medical facility. The incident remains under investigation.
