Suspect Barricaded in Home Shot by Deputies in Coweta County

Shortly before midnight on September 19, deputies from the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Hawthorne Drive following reports of a family dispute.

Upon arrival, deputies found a male suspect barricaded in a bedroom, where he threatened to shoot the officers. As deputies attempted to enter the room, the male advanced toward them brandishing a weapon. In response to the imminent threat, deputies discharged their firearms, striking the male.

Emergency medical aid was rendered at the scene, and Coweta County Fire/EMS transported the male to an Atlanta area hospital. His condition is currently unknown.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has been called to conduct an investigation into the incident. Further updates will be provided by the GBI.
