Suspect Arrested After High-Speed Scooter Chase and Pursuit into Publix
On September 10, 2024, at approximately 5:33 PM, officers observed an unidentified male riding an electric scooter erratically in the area of 10th Street NW and Techwood Drive NW. The male was seen weaving in and out of traffic, prompting officers to attempt an investigatory stop. The male fled the scene on his scooter, navigating between vehicles and through traffic.
Officers pursued the individual to Spring Street NW and Peachtree Place NW, where he abandoned the scooter and entered a nearby Publix. Additional officers responded and, following a brief search, located the male inside an adjoining parking garage. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. He faces multiple charges and was transported to the city jail.
