Dispute Leads to Shooting in Satilla Shores; Investigation Underway in Glynn County
Glynn County Police are investigating a shooting that occurred just before 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, at a residence on Zellwood Drive in Satilla Shores.
The victim, 23-year-old Azjhonti Armstrong of Brunswick, was shot in the chest and shoulder area. He was transported to Shands Jacksonville and is currently in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
Two other men involved in the incident have been identified. GCPD investigators are taking additional steps to gather facts about the shooting. As of Sunday morning, no arrests have been made. Authorities believe that all three individuals involved knew each other, and the shooting resulted from a disagreement.

UPDATE: Two men are now under arrest and facing Aggravated Assault charges following the Saturday, September 7, shooting in the Satilla Shores neighborhood.
23-year-old Michael Thomas Jr. and 22-year old Reiner Herrera were arrested on Tuesday, September 10, after questioning by GCPD investigators about the sequence of events that led to Saturday’s shooting and 23-year-old Azjhonti Armstrong of Brunswick being wounded with non-life-threatening injuries. Thomas and Herrera were arrested and charged on Tuesday, September 10. GCPD also obtained search warrants for residences, vehicles and electronics that have assisted in obtaining additional evidence for this continuing investigation.
