Multiple Arrests Made in Sandersville Drug Raids; Narcotics Seized and Suspects Charged

Washington County deputies, alongside the Middle Georgia Gang Task Force, Sandersville Police Department, DCS, and GBI, executed a search warrant at a residence on Gum Street in Sandersville. During the search, narcotics were found. As a result, Robert Johnson, 64, of Sandersville, was arrested and charged with three counts of the sale of cocaine.

The Task Force and Sheriff’s Office also conducted ongoing investigations leading to the arrest of several individuals for drug-related offenses. The individuals arrested and their charges are as follows:

  • Howard Swint, 54, of Sandersville: Two counts of the sale of cocaine.
  • Donald Sutton Jr., 47, of Sandersville: Two counts of the sale of cocaine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
  • Anthony Williams, 30, of Warthen: Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, probation violation.
  • William Hall, 39, of Tennille: Possession of cocaine, parole violation, false report of a crime, fleeing or attempting to elude, failure to obey stop sign, failure to maintain lane.

Earlier this morning, deputies responded to a report of a vehicle stuck on a dirt road near the prison in Davisboro. With assistance from the Georgia Department of Corrections K9 unit, deputies found contraband and arrested the vehicle’s driver, Janeisha Mills, 25, of Wrens. Mills faces charges including criminal trespass, crossing guard lines, possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and trading with inmates.

Around midday, a Sheriff’s Investigator on patrol on West Elder Street observed a hand-to-hand drug transaction. Deputies arrested Freddie Flemming, 59, of Sandersville, for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and Justin Sutton, 32, of Sandersville, for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, trafficking in cocaine, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony.

Sheriff Joel Cochran commented on the day’s events, stating, “We’re committed to keeping drugs out of Washington County. Our team, alongside our partners, is working tirelessly to stop the flow and sale of illegal substances in our community. Together, we’ll continue to fight against this threat to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents. We won’t back down.”
