GBI Investigating Deaths of Two Teenagers Found in Webster County
PRESTON, Ga. — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Webster County Sheriff’s Office with an investigation after two teenagers were found dead in Webster County.
According to the GBI, investigators were requested by the Webster County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the deaths of 19-year-old Zekevian James of Richland and 17-year-old Jo’Quavious Jones of Lumpkin.
Preliminary information indicates that on Wednesday, June 30, a family member of one of the victims contacted the sheriff’s office to report a missing person.
During the search, deputies located the bodies of James and Jones in the area of Twin Towers Road and Johnson Road in Webster County.
The GBI said both bodies will be transported to the agency’s Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsies to determine the cause and manner of death.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
