Bibb County Traffic Enforcement Operation Results in 48 Citations on Zebulon Road

MACON, Georgia – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office H.E.A.T. Unit issued dozens of citations during a recent traffic enforcement effort targeting aggressive and dangerous driving behaviors along Zebulon Road.

According to the sheriff’s office, H.E.A.T. Unit Corporal Dalton Palmer responded to community complaints regarding traffic violations in the area and conducted targeted enforcement operations.

During the initiative, Palmer issued a total of 48 citations to motorists.

Among the violations cited were multiple speeding offenses, with some drivers traveling as fast as 68 mph in a posted 45 mph speed zone.

Authorities also issued nine citations to motorists who were illegally parked in marked fire lanes outside businesses in the area. Officials noted that signs were clearly posted advising drivers that parking in fire lanes is prohibited.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said the enforcement effort was conducted as part of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety H.E.A.T. (Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic) Unit program.

The H.E.A.T. Unit focuses on identifying and addressing aggressive driving behaviors, speeding violations, impaired driving, and other dangerous traffic offenses that threaten public safety.

Officials encourage motorists to obey posted speed limits and parking restrictions to help keep roadways and business areas safe for all residents.
