Man Arrested After Shooting at Carrollton Motel

CARROLLTON, Georgia – A Carrollton man is facing a felony charge after a shooting at a local motel left another man hospitalized Friday afternoon.

According to the Carrollton Police Department, officers responded to the Crown Inn on North Park Street at approximately 4:40 p.m. on May 29 following reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a 38-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the thigh.

The victim was transported to an Atlanta-area hospital for treatment.

Investigators identified the suspect as 25-year-old Darrion Je’Juan Mitchell of Carrollton.

Mitchell was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault.

Police said additional charges may be filed as the investigation progresses.

The case remains active and ongoing, and authorities have not released further details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
