Fugitive Wanted in Phenix City Murder Arrested in Muscogee County
MUSCOGEE COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities arrested a fugitive Friday wanted in connection with a murder investigation out of Alabama, according to the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators with the sheriff’s office Collaborative Intelligence Group, working alongside the Phenix City Police Department, located and arrested Tomarius Murphy on May 15, 2026, in Muscogee County.
Murphy was wanted in connection with a homicide that occurred in Phenix City on May 11, authorities said.
Police also said Murphy had outstanding warrants through the Phenix City Police Department for Felony Hindering an Investigation and Tampering with Evidence.
Murphy was transported to the Muscogee County Jail without incident and is awaiting extradition to Alabama.
Officials said the investigation remains ongoing and additional charges may still be filed.
