Pedestrian Killed in DUI Crash on Eisenhower Parkway in Macon
MACON, Ga. — A Macon man was killed Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle on Eisenhower Parkway, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 9:28 p.m. May 10 to the intersection of Eisenhower Parkway and Heron Street for a reported pedestrian collision.
Investigators said a Chevrolet Camaro was traveling west on Eisenhower Parkway when it struck a pedestrian crossing the roadway. Authorities identified the victim as 61-year-old Michael Keith Miles of Macon.
Miles, who was reportedly wearing dark clothing at the time of the crash, died at the scene. Leon Jones pronounced him deceased and confirmed that next of kin had been notified.
No other injuries were reported.
During the investigation, deputies identified the driver as 28-year-old Dadrean Rashard Felton of Macon. Authorities said Felton was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
Following further investigation, Felton was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He is currently being held at the Bibb County Jail. His bond has been set at $1,850.
