Man Found Dead on Porch in Macon, Investigation Underway

MACON, Ga. — Authorities are investigating the death of a man found unresponsive early Thursday morning in Macon, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched just before 1 a.m. May 7 to a residence in the 1000 block of Burke Street, between Houston Avenue and Broadway, after a report of an unresponsive person.

When deputies arrived, they located a 43-year-old man on the front porch of the home. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley.

The victim’s name has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

Investigators are actively working the case, and officials said additional details will be released as they become available.
