Macon Man Charged With Murder After Killing Brother
MACON, Ga. — A man has been charged with murder following a domestic dispute that turned deadly Saturday night, May 2nd, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded just before 9 p.m. to a shooting in the 4700 block of High Oak Drive after receiving a call through the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center.
When deputies arrived, they found 52-year-old Robert Thomas inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound. Authorities said the incident stemmed from a dispute between Robert Thomas and his brother, 46-year-old Roderick Thomas.
Robert Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley. Officials said his body will be sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for an autopsy.
Roderick Thomas was taken to the Criminal Investigation Division for questioning and was later transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, where he was charged with murder.
