Man Arrested in Connection With Fatal Shooting in West Atlanta

ATLANTA — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Saturday night in northwest Atlanta, police said.

Officers responded around 8:45 p.m. on April 11, 2026, to a report of a person shot at The Commons apartment complex located at 84 Allen Temple Court NW. Upon arrival, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to Grady Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Homicide investigators responded to the scene and launched an investigation. On April 12, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for 29-year-old Xavier Postell in connection with the shooting.

Postell was taken into custody without incident and charged with murder. He was transported to the Fulton County Jail, where he remains in custody.

The investigation remains ongoing.
