Two Postal Workers Arrested in Bibb County Mail Theft Investigation; Two Others Wanted
MACON, Ga. — Two U.S. Postal Service employees have been arrested in connection with an ongoing mail theft investigation in Bibb County, authorities said.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said the arrests followed a joint investigation involving its Criminal Investigation Division, Patrol Division, the United States Postal Service, and the Office of Inspector General.
Investigators identified 26-year-old Anthony Tyler Thomas and 28-year-old Toni Jones-Coleman, both USPS employees, as suspects in the case.
Thomas was arrested on March 30 at the Zebulon Road Post Office during his shift and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. He was charged with felony theft by possession of stolen property and has since posted bond.
Jones-Coleman turned herself in on March 31 and was also taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. She was charged with felony theft by taking and has also bonded out.
Authorities are still searching for two additional suspects, identified as 46-year-old Summer Battle and 30-year-old Savon Lashaun Harris, both former Postal Service employees. They are wanted in Bibb County on charges of felony theft by possession of stolen property.
The investigation remains active, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
