Log Truck Overturns in East Macon Crash, Scattered Logs Block Intersection
MACON, Ga. — A crash involving a log truck caused a major roadway disruption in East Macon on Monday, officials said.
Bibb County deputies responded on March 30, 2026, to an accident at the intersection of Ocmulgee East Boulevard and Jeffersonville Road.
According to investigators, a Chevrolet Equinox traveling west on Jeffersonville Road had stopped at the intersection when a semi-trailer carrying logs, traveling behind it, attempted to stop but struck the SUV.
The impact caused the semi-trailer to overturn, spilling logs across the intersection. One of the logs struck a Toyota Corolla on the opposite side of the roadway.
Authorities said the driver and passenger in the Corolla were not injured. The drivers of both the semi-trailer and the Chevrolet sustained minor injuries.
The intersection was temporarily blocked as crews worked to remove the scattered logs. Kitchen’s Garage assisted with clearing the scene.
Deputies with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and members of the fire department responded and are continuing to investigate the incident.
