MACON, Ga. — A Macon man with a history of violent offenses will remain behind bars for the next 15 years following a probation revocation tied to multiple incidents, prosecutors said.

On March 25, 2026, a judge granted the District Attorney’s Office request to revoke probation for Christopher Dewayne Bonner, sentencing him to the Georgia Department of Corrections through April 24, 2041.

Bonner’s criminal history dates back to a guilty plea on April 26, 2023, for aggravated assault stemming from a December 2020 incident. He was originally sentenced to 20 years, with two years to serve in prison followed by probation.

Authorities said Bonner violated that probation on August 8, 2024, when he approached a man sitting in a vehicle on Anthony Road, threatened him with a firearm, and forced him out of the car before fleeing in the stolen vehicle. The pursuit ended in a crash, and Bonner was taken into custody after attempting to flee on foot. Investigators recovered a firearm, ski mask, and the victim’s belongings from the wreckage.

While in custody awaiting those charges, Bonner was involved in another violent incident on December 9, 2024. Officials said he and others stole commissary items from another inmate. When confronted, Bonner produced a shank and stabbed the inmate at least six times. The attack was captured on video.

“Actions like these demonstrate exactly why our office pursues probation revocations with the same vigor as the underlying charges,” said District Attorney Anita Howard. “The people of Macon deserve to be safe in their cars, in their homes, and even in our county jail.”

The revocation hearing was prosecuted by Assistant Deputy Chief Jeremy B. Johnson of the Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.
