Suspect Taken Into Custody After Southwest Atlanta Shooting Investigation, Video Released

ATLANTA, Georgia – Atlanta Police have arrested a suspect in connection to a shooting that left a man injured in southwest Atlanta.

On March 14, 2026, officers responded to a person shot call at 1655 Harbin Road SW. When they arrived, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm.

Officers quickly applied a tourniquet to control the bleeding and provided emergency medical care until Grady EMS arrived. The victim was then transported to a hospital for treatment.

Following the initial response, investigators developed information identifying a suspect and a vehicle involved in the shooting.

That information was shared with the department’s Auto Crimes Enforcement Unit, which began searching the area.

While canvassing nearby streets, officers located the suspect, identified as Jorge L. Garcia, driving a white Toyota Tacoma on Fairburn Road SW. Police said the driver matched the description provided by investigators.

Officers conducted a high-risk felony traffic stop. Garcia complied with commands and was taken into custody without incident.

During a search of the vehicle, officers recovered a firearm cartridge.

Garcia was charged with aggravated assault and weapons law violations. He was transported to the Fulton County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing and officials say details could change as more information becomes available.
