Macon Man Arrested by Perry Police For Murder In Houston Lake Apartments Shooting

PERRY, Georgia – A Macon man has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting at an apartment complex in Perry.

On Wednesday, March 18, 2026, investigators with the Perry Police Department Criminal Investigations Division arrested 29-year-old Alexander Culler on a warrant for murder in the death of 29-year-old Diandre Qunshay Oates of Fort Valley.

The case began on March 12, around 9:28 p.m., when officers responded to reports of shots fired at the Houston Lake Apartments in Kathleen, GA.

While searching the area, officers located Oates behind a building in the 1700 block of Houston Lake Rd suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Following the investigation, detectives identified Culler as the suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest.

Culler is currently being held at the Houston County Detention Center without bond. He faces charges including murder, tampering with evidence, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes.

Culler is a known drug dealer in the Middle Georgia area. Online records show that Culler has a prior arrest in Peach County from March 2025 related to a case that was still pending at the time of this arrest.
