Investigation Underway After In-Custody Death In Camden County

WOODBINE, Georgia – Authorities in Camden County are investigating an in-custody death that occurred early Tuesday morning.

The Camden County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the incident on March 17, 2026, stating the case remains active and ongoing.

In accordance with standard protocol, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been requested and is conducting an independent criminal investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.

At the same time, the Sheriff’s Office Internal Affairs Division has launched an administrative review to determine whether all policies, procedures, and professional standards were followed.
