DFCS Tip Leads To Arrest In Carroll County Domestic Violence And Drug Investigation
CARROLL COUNTY, Georgia – An investigation sparked by a Department of Family and Children Services referral has led to the arrest of a Carroll County man facing multiple serious charges.
On March 4, 2026, investigators with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit received a referral after a juvenile reported possible domestic violence inside their home. Investigator Repetto was assigned to the case, and forensic interviews were conducted with the children.
During those interviews, the children described ongoing physical abuse toward their mother by their father, including an incident where he allegedly pointed a firearm at her head and threatened to kill her. They also reported a separate incident involving physical abuse toward one of the children.
Following the disclosures, the victim relocated with her children to a temporary hotel for safety. Authorities coordinated with a domestic violence shelter to help the family secure a safer living environment while the investigation continued.
After providing a statement to investigators, the victim was forced to call 911 when the suspect arrived at the hotel attempting to make contact. Officers with the Bremen Police Department responded and intervened without incident.
Based on the investigation and the escalating circumstances, warrants were obtained for Justin D. Farris. He was arrested on March 11, 2026, and transported to the Carroll County Jail.
Investigators later executed a search warrant at Farris’ residence, where they recovered a significant amount of illegal narcotics, packaging materials, and multiple firearms. Among the items seized was the firearm described by the children.
Farris is currently facing charges including aggravated assault under family violence and possession of narcotics with intent to distribute. Additional charges are possible as the investigation remains ongoing.
Officials say the case underscores the importance of reporting suspected abuse, noting that a child’s disclosure ultimately led to intervention and the uncovering of both domestic violence and drug-related activity.
Authorities encourage anyone experiencing domestic violence to seek help, emphasizing that resources are available and support is accessible.
