Man Found Shot Dead at Houston Lake Apartments in Perry

PERRY, Ga. — Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting Thursday night, March 12th, at an apartment complex in Perry.

Houston 911 received a call at approximately 9:28 p.m. reporting shots fired at the Houston Lake Apartments.

When officers arrived, they began searching the area on foot where the gunfire was believed to have occurred. During the search, officers located an adult male behind the 1700 building who had suffered a gunshot wound.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Houston County Coroner’s Office.

Officials said the victim has been identified, and authorities are working to notify next of kin.

Investigators with the Perry Police Department, along with crime scene specialists from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, are processing the scene and following up on potential leads.

Authorities said they do not believe there is an active threat to the public.
